Join the Test Kitchen - using all Montana grown ingredients to create and test recipes to be used in meals for kids!

Time & Location
Mar 28, 2021, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Homestead Organics Farm, 175 Skalkaho Hwy, Hamilton, MT 59840, USA
About the event
Join us for a super fun day in the kitchen. Learn about all the foods we grow in Montana, and see how they can fit into the nutrition matrix required by our local school lunch programs.
This is a continuation of the Reimagining School Lunch Innovation Lab and you are invited to try out some recipes, or get creative and create your own recipes.
All test kitchen creations will be trialed by kids at the Linda Massa Youth Home, and will be evaluated for their adaptability to school-scale production. Best loved recipes will be trialed further and shared widely! All the Montana grown whole food ingredients will be supplied, and the test kitchen is fully stocked with the tools and equipment to make cooking fun and easy. All you need to bring is your creativity and willingness to share and document the recipes you prepare.
Hosted at Homestead Organics Farm, 175 Skalkaho Hwy. Hamilton, MT in collaboration with the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority's Food and Agriculture Development Program. Funded by a grant from the Montana Department of Agriculture.
Each test kitchen time slot is limited to four participants. Children who can and want to participate in cooking are welcome to attend. Bring your favorite cookbooks and recipes, and be ready to discover the potential of Montana grown whole foods! Thanks for your participation.
