Youth Farm Internship

‘Best of the Farm’ CSA share!

Join us in supporting youth in agriculture

As a member of our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, you and your family will receive a weekly share box of fresh, certified organic veggies and farm treats.

The CSA starts Tuesday, May 28, and continues every Tuesday until October 8!  For those of you who have already signed up, you will need to pick up your share at Homestead Organics Farm between 2PM and 6PM.  Homestead Organics Farm is located at 175 Skalkaho Hwy., about three miles south of Hamilton.  (If this time frame does not work for you, we can arrange a self-serve pick up, please call.)

Just hearing about this for the first time? Well, read on, eat well and support Cultivating Connections’ educational programming! 20 weeks of salad greens, mixed vegetables, and surprises from our Youth Farm Intern-gardeners will keep you delighted and well fed. Each week you will receive 5-6 different organic veggies and one creative treat such as cut flowers, fresh herbal tea blends, or homemade garlic powder, salad dressing, or kale chips.

All proceeds from your share price directly support youth in farming, opportunities for active community engagement for everyone, as well as nutritious salads for area seniors. Each week your growers in training, the Cultivating Connections Youth Farm Interns, get hands-on training in gardening and farming. Each week you get to support their learning and growth as our future leaders in agriculture and society! Only 10 shares are available, though there are two levels of support to choose from- $600 and $1000. Support this unique program at the level you wish and gain the same access to the inside world of local youth in farming.

Get your own box of the ‘Best of the Farm’. This is your chance to participate directly in a circular economic model- your dollars become the paychecks for girls learning to grow food, community, and personal capacity. Their efforts become your dinner and your good fortune! Thank you for supporting Cultivating Connections and it family of programs: the ‘Youth Farm Internship’, ‘Salads for Seniors’ (in cooperation with the Meals on Wheels program of Ravalli County Council on Aging), the ‘Kinder-Gardeners Project’, ‘Special Abilities Camp’ (in cooperation with Bitterroot Arts for Autism), Community Roundtable events, and other opportunities for fun, active engagement in food, farming, and society for everyone. Cultivating Connections is a Montana non-profit, under the non-profit umbrella of the Bitter Root RC&D, and is based at the farm-classroom of Homestead Organics Farm of Hamilton.
